Auburn Symphony Orchestra, Auburn Washington
The ASO has an on-going program to bring music to young people in the local community. ASO’s close relationship with the Auburn School District has resulted in regular attendance of students at rehearsals and performances. In addition, a relationship with local area high schools has included talks by musicians in the classroom.

In addition to this classical music education program, each year the ASO invites aspiring young musicians from local schools to audition to play with the orchestra. Stewart Kershaw has auditioned and subsequently selected talented students from South King and North Pierce Counties to play alongside ASO’s professional musicians, giving a wonderful opportunity to young musicians and fulfilling a dream Stewart had for many years.

In the last three years, in conjunction with the Auburn Arts Commission, the ASO selected nine student musicians to perform with the symphony at upcoming concerts. In order to be selected, they must be capable musicians up to the challenge of performing with a professional symphony orchestra. Congratulations to the following students:
